Private instruction is the cornerstone of the Oklahoma Conservatory of Music curriculum. OCM offers high-level teaching and mentoring through private lessons with our excellent faculty.


VIOLIN AND VIOLA STUDIOS.

Our violin and viola faculty consists of some of the most accomplished musicians and pedagogues in the field. Our high-caliber teachers include the Assistant Concertmaster of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Principal Violist of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic as well as other members of that orchestra. Our upper strings teachers have studied at some of the most distinguished universities in the country. They possess a rich experience in both teaching and performance. OCM prides itself in being an institution, where students are taught by the best from very beginning.


CELLO STUDIOS.

The main cello studio is run by OCM Founder and Director, Dr. Angelika Machnik-Jones. Awarded by the Oklahoma Chapter for American Strings Teachers Association as the 2020 Private Studio Teacher of the Year, Dr. Machnik-Jones guides her students from very early ages as beginning cellists to advanced stages as competition and audition winners.

The adult cello studio is taught by Martyna Sandoval, a fellow Polish cellist, with excellent musical upbringing and encouraging attitude towards adult students.


DOUBLE BASS STUDIOS.

The double bass studio is led by Dr. Christine Craddock, a double bassist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas. An additional double bass studio is taught by Dr. DoYoun Kim, who recently moved here from Austin, after completing his doctorate at University of Texas at Austin.


PIANO STUDIOS.

The main piano studio is taught by Ruirui Ouyang-Johnson, a prominent and highly regarded collaborative pianist and pedagogue.
