Oklahoma city Philharmonic Young Musicians competition

Two high school cellists, Avery Wiggins and Noah Koo, advance into the Final Round of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Young Musicians Competition, which will be held at the Oklahoma City University on April 12. Both students study with Dr. Angelika Machnik-Jones.

Avery Wiggins is a high school senior, auditioning to university music programs in the US. Avery has performed at the Texas Cello School, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, and Oklahoma All-State Orchestra. She is a member of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra.

Noah Koo is a high school sophomore. He has attended the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute and performed in the Oklahoma All-State Orchestra. He is the 2025 Division Alternate winner in the South Central division of the Music Teachers National Association Junior Strings Competition, as well as the 3rd prize winner at the Junior Strings Division of the 2024 Oklahoma City Philharmonic Young Musicians Competition.

Oklahoma Music teachers association District Auditions

Piano students Sofia Biddick and Jayden Dasari achieve superior markings at the OMTA District Auditions held at Oklahoma Christian University on February 28, 2026. They advance to the State Auditions, which will be held at the University of Oklahoma on May 16. Both students study with Ekaterina Kuleshova

Sofia has been an OCM student since the beginning of her studies in 2021. She and her musician siblings frequently perform together as part of the Sirenes Piano Trio.

Jayden has been an OCM student since 2023. Jayden has also dabbled in viola, double bass and percussion, before devoting himself more fully to piano.

Cellists Noah Koo, Jamie Kang, and Fahim Nazier were chosen to perform with the 2026 Oklahoma All-State Symphony Orchestra
